_ This time every year we make our way home for the feast of all feasts. A big table, mountains of food, and friends and family make it easy to look forward to Thanksgiving, but that doesn’t mean it’s going to be easy getting there. Thanksgiving is one of the biggest holiday seasons for travel and that means you either need to make your travel plans a year in advance, or know the tricks of the trade in last minute traveling. One of the best things that can help you is to check out trends of years previous. You can’t beat the enemy unless you know the enemy. One of my favorite travel websites and iPhone apps, Hipmunk.com, has an info-graphic that should do just the trick. It has all the info on busiest airports, regional travel, and even the busiest days for travel. Hipmunk.com and Lastminutetravel.com are among my personal favorites for grabbing those last minute deals on flights and hotels. Additionally, if you are lucky enough to have a flexible schedule, taking flights at odd hours or dates can potentially save you time and money. Lastly, and most importantly, make sure you don’t show up home empty handed! Everyone loves a good pie, and if you aren’t a master chef, the local bakery should do just fine. Best of luck in your holiday travels.
